The Ocean Café produces quality coffee and espresso beverages, house made pastries and sandwiches daily. We provide a positive work atmosphere and a great amenity for the guests of the Inn at Nye Beach and the surrounding community. We are looking for people with great attitudes who want to put smiles on people’s faces while taking orders, preparing and serving food and beverages, and accepting and posting payments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greets all customers and guests with fast, friendly, personalized service.
- Verbally receives and calls back customer orders in a friendly manner.
- Actively share and educate guests on products, including pastries and services.
- Prepares and serves high-quality drinks and food following company recipes and procedures.
- Sells and serves baked or packaged goods to customers and guests.
- Willing to learn about various types of coffee, tea products, blends, and roasts.
- Reports all customer complaints to direct supervisor and the manager on duty.
- Responds proactively to prevent customer service situations by listening to and working to achieve a positive result for the guest.
- Accurately rings sales orders into a cash register and counts back, courteously changing them for customers.
- Take stock of inventory and report the need to replenish supplies to direct supervisor.
- Restock shelves when necessary.
- Maintains professionalism with other employees while keeping a fun and energetic employee environment.
- Routinely cleans the bar area, floor, windows, and grinders and removes trash, etc.
- Cleans bathroom attached to the Café.
- Assist in the distribution and restocking of shipments.
- Reports potential safety hazards, accidents, or operational issues to direct supervisor and the manager on duty.
QUALIFICATIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must obtain an Oregon Food Handling Certificate (employee responsibility)
- May work special events for the Inn at Nye Beach as needed or support the Inn.
- Maintains positive morale and professional attitude.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Well-organized and detail-oriented
- Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
- Regularly required to lift and move items up to 45 pounds.
- Regularly required to handle food that may contain peanuts.
- Regularly required to handle hot water and beverages, reaching temperatures above 190 degrees.
Compensation: $16.50 per hour
